AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

INCEPTION

The idea for the ELACP project was conceived by a group of Londoners who are involved in education in the United Kingdom. All of them were educated in the British school system, from primary and secondary school to college and university. The English Language and Culture Project (ELACP) evolved from their idea to merge the experience of the English school camp with English Language tuition and  cultural exchange between the UK and other countries.

Within Europe, Great Britain has its own unique culture, a mix of traditional old English customs with modern  multicultural  influences. This is reflected in the varied background and  dialects of its population. Diversity is valued in the UK, especially in London, and we hope to share this cultural diversity with students who join the ELACP Programme.  We welcome students of all religions and cultures, and encourage them to share their beliefs and experiences with other students, to encourage tolerance and to instil a better understanding of the World.

We have a dedicated and enthusiastic team, with qualified native English Language teachers, supported by tutors, classroom assistants and activities leaders.  All our staff are carefully selected, and all must obtain a clear criminal record and DBS check before they are employed on the programme.

MISSION

  • To bring the experience of school camp to students of all ages
  • To promote cultural exchange between the UK and other cultures of the World
  • To teach the English Language effectively and creatively
  • To introduce native English speakers to students of the English language
  • To devise stimulating and exciting activities for students
  • To assist students to achieve their full potential and to realise their aspirations
  • To provide an enjoyable atmosphere for students  while they are at camp
  • To serve healthy and nutritious food
  • To ensure the security, safety and wellbeing of everyone at camp
